Slacking....

I have been slightly neglecting my blog. I am not sure what to blame it on. Regardless, its on my list of things to do. I think I will have to start remembering my camera when we go places. That said, we have been busy with some house stuff, mainly the bathroom. Its a slow process, because I won't work on it and Paul has been working 13 plus hour days at work all week long....booo. But good at the same time.  I am thinking in a month we should have some progress to show.
On the list of things to do include, make room for a play structure for Kade outside, put in some lawn, plant some plants, make a mirror (still), make Kades bday present.....I think that is enough to work on for now.
My parents come for a whole month next week and I am super excited to have them close by for that amount of time. I am hoping some things will get knocked off the list quicker when they are around!
I will try and get some pictures up soon of something. For now, if you are reading, I haven't forgot about the blog. Just been enjoying summer and not doing much on the computer.  One more thing, this little man is turning the big 2 in less than a month. So hard to believe. I couldn't be more happy to be his mama!

Surprise Trip to Walla Walla

Congratulations to my Mom, Dakota, Lexi and Jesse. This year was a big one for graduations and retirement!
(P.S) This whole blog got disorganized and I was too lazy to re-do it. Enjoy!

Kade's favorite thing was running around in Nana and Grandpas back yard.

Spending time on a family friends farm. Kade and the dogs had a blast exploring.

Watering with Grandpa

Playing piano with Kota

Nothing better than Nana's lap

My sister has this great old barn in her backyard. I did a little photo shoot with Kade.

Uncle J.D and Kade

Attempting a photo at my mom's retirement art show.

My mom's kids did the quilt you can see behind us. Every student made a square. My mom was very surprised. Special thing to have.

Parents backyard. Isn't it beautiful. Always impressed by my mom's green thumb..and my dad's too.

The only pictures that turned out on my camera from Graduation. This was the High School where  my dad went,  2 of my siblings, myself and Dakota.

Hiking with Nana

Come on already. Pick. Me. Up.

Swinging with Grandpa.

Last week Kade and I flew to Washington to surprise my Mom and nephew. My mom is just finishing up her last year of teaching and my nephew graduated high school. It was a busy week. Oh-so-fun! I tried to take pictures of both events, but pretty much failed due to a crazy Kade and a camera that was not willing to work correctly. The photos sum up the trip. Love my family and friends and had a blast. Happy I was able to surprise my mom for her retirement present and be able to attend my nephew Dakota's graduation.

Thank you, Pinterest.

I have a new found obsession. Pinterest. Finding ideas for crafts, recipes, gift ideas, etc. has never been easier. If you haven't caught the bug, your missing out.
I find all sorts of ideas for house projects and decor ideas, given that is really where my mind is these days. I have to say, I can be a tad creative, but I do like to feed off of others ideas. Just being honest.
Here are my latest steals:
1. Bookshelves made from old pallets. Such a great idea. And they cost me about 5 bucks to make! Not bad.
2. My little rules for Kade sign. The one I found was a print, but I just made a chalk board and framed it with and old frame and free-handed the lettering. Yep..its not too straight, but I think I spelled everything right:)
3. How to organize a playroom...I kind of knew how I was going to make use of our space, but finding ideas on pinterest helped for sure. And some other friends blogs..Thanks Kacy! I think I stole a few ideas from you!
4. Repurposing furniture. I think I blogged about this prior. But I was happy to make a bench, actually 2. Forgot to take a picture of other. Found them in the backyard and cleaned them up and painted them. Love them.

Kades play corner. It only looks like this for a small part of the day. He is loving his magnet board from Ikea and the  Expedit shelf too. Great idea for organizing stuff. And he is obsessed with the abc's. So the letters on the wall are a hot item right now:)

Loving these right now. Just put them up last night. I did all of it except hang them. Thats a great task for the hotty husband. Kade can only reach the lower one. Which mean the better books are out of reach. Perfect:) You can find the project in detail on my pinterest account if your interested. FYI takes a lot of sanding. Splinters....I painted them to look like this. I was going for the old fence look:) And then put a clear top coat to seal it. And in the instructions it has you use a pallet board for the bottom. Mine broke when taking them off the whole pallet. I had new ones made for 4 bucks.

My little rules for Kade.

Now to put something on the wall above the couch....hmmmm...
I am enjoying all these projects. More to come. Kade keeps me busy, but I enjoy some grown up projects too.

Bedroom

Its already May...well almost. I feel like we are always doing some project...but progression seems a bit slow. But progress is happening, so I'll go with that.
Right now, the one room that seems the most put-together is our room. Minus some curtains and a mirror and the closets and doors being painted and door knobs changed...its my favorite room so far.
I finally put something on our walls. It took me forever to decide how to organize this. I think it turned out well. Now, to figure out how to make my pillows look fluffy and straight, just like all those professional home decor people:)

I finally got some curtains rods this weekend. Now to attempt finding some good curtains. I have to say, not my favorite chore.

I dreamed up a mirror to make for over our dresser. I have all the wood. Now to attempt it. Oh and behind that door. Is our master bathroom. It is, well...out of order. It needs to be all redone. On the list.

I finally found a good use for my Grandpa's old plant books.  The pages are so old..they are hard to read. So here, I happily used them to make our lamps a tad bit taller.

I have to say, I made this bench for free. It was in our backyard....covered in dirt and cob webs.  And was double the size. So I cut it in half and sanded it, and then painted it white and made it look....here it comes....Shabby Chic. Oh yes I did:) I do like it. It pretty much serves the purpose of allowing Kade to jump on our bed. Perfect. Exactly what I had in mind.

My next task....well there are many. And I am quite ADD  about it all. Always  doing too many things at once. Never fully accomplishing one thing at a time, fully. But Kades little play corner is in the making....And this is the start.

Easter

We had a nice quiet Easter weekend. After our trip to Huntington Beach, and parents visiting, it was nice to have a quiet weekend. We had dinner with Kade's Great Nana Friday, along with his little "cousin" Stella, who just turned the big One.
We did a small little egg hunt with Kade in our backyard on Sunday. It was a total hit! Probably because I failed as a mom and put straight up sugar candies in the eggs. Now when we go to the backyard, he asks where the eggs are....Regardless it was fun to watch him get surprised each time he found and egg and then the jelly beans. He was a happy camper for sure.
Little Stella

It is just too cute watching these two interact. Kade had some long story to tell her.

Look at her face...Kade what are you saying???

Not the best picture..but Kade with his Great Nana

Egg Hunt. Found the egg. Looked inside.

Dropped the jelly bean......

Got a taste of the little bean.....

Oh man...it was good!

I think I will have another one!

Not wanting to share....

But then he did:)

Happy Easter!
