Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo...

We decided to venture off to the Santa Barbara Zoo yesterday. It was a beautiful day at the Zoo.. We sure did see a lot of animals. But mostly we spent a good portion of the time chasing around our own wild "animal".

Checking out the snakes..not my favorite....

Looking for turtles.

A lonely Macaw.

Looking for turtles in the water....and the smallest Alligator.

Little Penguins.

This time, Kade was chasing Dad.

The best picture I could capture of these beautifully large Lions.

A rare moment of Kade in the stroller, and actually happy to have a free ride.

Paul was really intrigued with the California Condors.

Running around some more...

Watching T-Rex learn how to brush his teeth...

Sliding down the hill at the play section.. What a great idea-Cardboard sliding!

The best view..from Daddy's shoulders.

Matching Pajamas

Last night we met up with some friends at a BBQ. Kade got to hang out with his friend Wesley. Too much fun watching those two! When it came time to put on their Pjs. Funny thing, Julie and I had packed the boys the exact same pair of PJs! And thus, we thought it was camera worthy!

Coon Creek Hike

And we're off!

I probably should know what this is, given my years spent studying Horticulture at Cal Poly. But I don't. But it sure is pretty.

Happy Dude.

Paul and I were loving the trees...We thought it was beautiful the way the light was coming in.

Are we there yet? I'm outta juice.

And up Rattlesnake trail..no rattlesnakes on this hike....

Awkward Family Photo?

First attempt. Not bad..but Kade-man is not really in the picture, so we rearrange, set the timer...and...
I truly am always trying to capture a family photo. It seems the one time it happens, (when we remember the camera) is on our weekend adventures. Here are some attempted family photos. I am kinda thinking a few are a bit awkward..You can decide..but the whole log..straddling that Paul was doing and me sitting....enough said. I think a bit of cropping is needed to spruce up the awkwardness of the log...

And we all look at the camera..but...and then...
this...Time to crop.
Feeling like this is as good as it gets for this family photo attempt while out in the woods.

Kade

Posted by PicasaTo sleeping peacefully and melting my heart, to growing your first curls, to demanding you play with the phone, to only only drinking apple juice and not plain water, to blueberry milkshake mustaches, to putting EVERYTHING in your mouth at once, I love everything about you, Kade. You always amaze me with your need to discover and learn all about this thing we call life.

Fathers Day Weekend

Fathers Day hike was at Reservoir Canyon. It was a really beautiful day. There was still a nice flow of water in the creek, so Odus was pretty happy about that and it was fun to explore along the way. I really love this hike.  I guess it goes all the way to the top of High School hill...but we didn't make it too the top...almost..we didn't bring enough water for us all. Next time! Happy Fathers day to a wonderful new Dad. I am glad I get to go through this journey of parenting with you Paul.

Yet..another attempted family picture...

Happy Fathers Day Dad! I got you this!!!

On a mission to pick Dad a flower....

This might be the one.....

Yikes..I found one, but I think I might have smashed it...Here Dad...

A lovely Dandelion for you, Dad.

My two favorite boys.

Randoms

Helping Dad spray something..

What the peas did you put me in? These shoes are hard to walk in!

Are you ready yet?!

Dancing before bedtime.

Whoa....I think gymnastics class is working!!

Baby milk gut.

Love me some new walking shoes!!
Here are some recent random shots of Kade. He is certainly up and walking and pretty proud of himself. His favorite thing to do while walking is transport items from room to room and feeding Odus snacks.
