Hello December

Its December.. and I have to admit I almost decided to stop blogging...I just don't put that much time into it anymore. Sad but true. I do realize thought that a lot of our life is documented here and I would like to have that to look back on some day. So here I am trying to blog again.

We have been doing a lot of projects around the house that keep up busy. Not that our kids don't do that, but I do like a good project here and there....

But before I start with that I do owe a few pictures to Kade for his birthday party that happened in July. Ouch! I am so behind. Baby boy turned 4. We did a small park party and then took him to Gilroy Garden. He was a happy kid with both events.

Back to the home improvement projects...We just had our gross-a#$ popcorn ceilings finally removed! Yippeee! Oh how I was so happy to see them go, and to go along with that we had the carpets cleaned and are working to replace all the light fixtures through the house..minus the kitchen and our bedroom.. Before that we did a small make over in the hall bath..removed the wall paper...and painted the cabinets and added some fun things...we repainted the kids room and put up bunkbeds and had a new mantle built for our fireplace..which I have yet to take pictures of...anyhow..here we go. Pictures will show the fun:)

Kade and his best buddie from school, Hunter:) Those two are like brothers!

Enjoying some cupcakes and snacks:)

Here is what we had before. Oh that wall paper!!!

I had fun doing the small little projects.. the Zebra took along time to make, but Kade really wanted one in the bathroom...and the pallet art was fun..kids got naked and pretty much rolled around on the wood! And the mirror was a project I worked on with a friend..He built it and I stained and distressed it. I like the improvement for sure.. Still need a new faucet, and we will be set for a while until the kids fight over the sink and then maybe we will add that in:)

Part of the kids room. Kade wanted a blue room.. and since both kids are sharing..We did a really light blue color:)

Junk collecter

Light that Kade picked. I am a sucker for all these new vintagey depot light fixtures right now.

Summer

These moments are really the ones that matter most....My two strawberry blond kiddos. With Fart-kles on your noses. (Kade we need to work on your pronunciation on that word.) You are loved. You are wild and crazy. You make me crazy. But I love you both to the moon and back. xo

Done it again...

I am having a hard time keeping up with this blog. It is just not on the top of my list these days. And it is getting neglected. So I will just over load you with pictures of my sweet little love doves and call it a day.

Kinsley is a sweet and not so sweet 16 months old. She is one fiery little pistol most days. She knows what she wants, and will most likely get it. She is not passive...pretty much aggressive, loud and vocal, sweet and cuddley, loves to dance all.the.time. She loves her books and is never with out George. We love her to pieces.

Oh Kade. You are almost 4! How did that happen. My little dinosaur. Lets see. You are my sensitive one. Loud too. You love to wrestle with your sister all.the.time. You love your sister a lot, and some days I think I will explode with all the cuteness between you, but most days I feel crazy from it. You too together are little pistols! You love your trains, cars and bikes right now. Oh and we just had to go the ER yet again for another busted up eyebrow. That is three now! Yikes. Lets be done with that!

This girl and her George.

Oh and we are working on our bathroom these days. We had this lovely wall paper, that was beyond a b*&^h to remove, sand and prepare for painting. And DYIing things with kids is not eas,y, so yay for us for even getting it done, A+ to Paul and I....

It is looking like this now....We really wanted to remove the counter and all, but we are low on the cash for that one. So we will live with the polka dots and one sink in there for a while longer. And actually, they are growing on me...sad, but kind of true. We are having a mirror made...and then a have a few more projects to do in there and we will be done..like replace the faucets...do some tile renewal..the boring stuff... oh and curtains, which my husband doesn't understand, but things sometimes just are there because they are cute.

And this is blackmail for later Kade. Yup, Frozen is happening here too..to some extent. Kade sones't like the movie. Kinsley has not clue, except for just loving to put on new cloths and tu-tus...but Kade LOVES the soundtrack...so we go with it.

XOOXO you love doves. My life would sure be less exciting without you two around!

My Dad

It has taken me so long to write this blog, for more then one reason. But truly it seems so hard to write about losing someone you love.

I remember the day we got my Dad's test results back. We knew something was wrong. And when the word Cancer came through on the other end of the phone, my knees went weak, but heart so broken. It took me days to accept the news, I am still working it all through. When we learned of the stage of cancer and the location, it was all I could do to pray for my Dads comfort. And mostly just time. Time to share more memories and laughter, more meals, more time at the park, more conversations, more hugs, more I love yous, more walks, more everything. How would I ever be able to let go of my Dad.

We were given the gift of 6 more months with my Dad. Six sweet months. In these months we had so many meals together, so many family gatherings. Kade and Kinsley getting all the time left they could with their Papa. First steps were taken and seen, first bike rides...many memories made in a short time. For all that time I am grateful.

In February we had to say good bye my Dad. We all held on to his hands, my mom laying next to him as he took his last breath. A moment I will never forget. I life here ended, but another one to begin in what Kade calls Heaben.

I miss my Dad. Every day. I don't know how it is possible not to. I was blessed with the most amazing Dad. Ever.

Just a week ago we took a trip to Washington to do a final service for him. So many wonderful people came to give their respects. So many people who loved and cared for him. The service was beautiful. A celebration of the beautiful life that he spent with all of us.

I love you Dad so much. I miss you. I know you are loving that beautiful life up there. As Kade says, in Heaben floating on the clouds reading a book. xoxoxo

Birthday Girl

The last post I made here was dedicated to my sweet little cupcake. It is now March and I have neglected this Blog page of ours. Life happens and blogging just doesn't seem to around here. I finally downloaded some pictures from her little 1st Birthday. Just a few months late....
We are enjoying watching both our Monkeys grow up way too
fast. Kinsley now walking in full speed, trying to keep up with her brother. She is a total chatter box, but still yet to really make many words other than Mama and Dada. She LOVES to eat and is sleeping much better these days. Thank goodness. As to how many teeth she has...not too sure. She is getting in more each time I check. She is one feisty little thing, a total busy body, loves her books, BALLS, and being outside. Each day these babies get stronger and bigger and I am just so grateful and blessed that I get to be their Mama and love them even more.

Birthday Girl

It has been just a small while since I have attempted to put anything on this blog of ours....I think I skipped Christmas and Thanksgiving...oh dear.
I am pretty surprised though that it is 2014 AND that I will be celebrating my sweet baby girls birthday tomorrow!
Where
did
the
time
go
?

So here we go my little one...just a year ago I was in full labor with you right about now...thinking this whole baby#2 was going to go a lot quicker...not the case. A solid 12 hours later at 1:50 a.m I cried as I held you for the first time. So sweet and not so little at 9lbs 5oz. but the dream girl I was hoping for. Over this last year, I have been so blessed to watch you grow oh-so quickly. And now, how can it be that you just took your first steps? You are so sweet, sensitive, a bit sassy, talkative, active, observant and just a love. I never knew my heart could love something so much and have room to love more...you are the best little sister, daughter and love in this house. Blessed we are to have you. Thank you for coming to our little life and making it that much better. Happy almost birthday to you!!
